"Why do we never say things?"<div> This is the simple question, posed by my godson, which is the origin of this text. We were discussing the difficulties he had faced in his young life. His father committed suicide in 2018 when he was 5 years old. Barely on the cusp of adolescence, he too had expressed a desire to die.</div><div><br></div><div> This piece resembles a prayer addressed to her, in which memories mingle with dreams, memory offers itself to the imagination, and fiction intertwines with reality, all in an attempt to intervene in the deadly machinery of discouragement. Beyond the personal story it unfolds, it is the relationship to transmission that is explored.</div><div><br></div><div> Divided into six chapters, like the stations of a Stations of the Cross walked in reverse, the play layers archives, literature, and theater, like a palimpsest, to offer a rewriting of the wound. The gesture that motivates the exposure of this intimacy is not to seize the floor as if to take power over the tragic course of events, but rather to give it back to that which has been silenced. To that which, through its silence, has ultimately killed.</div>
