Double evening of instrumental exploration with Trucking, a solo for amplified bass, followed by Contrebasses, a minimalist electro-acoustic quartet.<div> With Trucking, Olivier Lété traverses genres and develops a singular conception of the electric bass, asserting his difference through his dedication to sound and musical audacity. For this new repertoire, he adds multiple, sprawling amplification systems to the instrument's traditional pickups, revealing an otherwise imperceptible sonic spectrum. His commitment to melodic beauty is thus enriched by the wild metamorphoses of this protean electric body. Meticulously taming it, his manual choreography transforms in an instant a fluid and profound song into a frenetic, trance-like drumbeat.</div><div><br></div><div> Contrebasses is an electro-acoustic quartet that originated from a process initiated in 2020 by double bassist Théo Girard. He felt the need to create a sonic laboratory around his instrument, a space for sharing and experimentation, which he developed with two of his peers: Olivia Scemama and Louis Prado. The three bassists explored together pulse, mimicry, and a wide range of materials and techniques to refine a shared sound and, through their collaborations, sketch the outlines of a minimalist and iterative sonic identity. Eager to push their experimentation even further, the trio invited sound artist Nicolas Canot to join them.</div>
