The greatest genius of this golden age was undoubtedly Pierluigi da Palestrina, whose Olympian polyphony masterfully underscored the liturgical texts set to music, consolidating an illustrious tradition that Gregorio Allegri crowned with an incomparable masterpiece, his legendary Miserere, with its stratospheric high notes. Peter Phillips and his Tallis Scholars present a Mass service based on major works by Palestrina, including motets by masters all associated with the Sistine Chapel. It goes without saying that this ensemble will display the incredible vocal perfection for which it is renowned.</div>
