Description

At the edge of the undergrowth, two wild boars. They graze peacefully in a fantasized Gaul, then collapse into the ditch.<div> " <em>At the edge of the undergrowth, two wild boars. They graze peacefully in a fantasized Gaul, then collapse into the ditch.</em></div><div> <em>Olivier and Thomas, two bearded and hairy Gauls, live by the river. They half-heartedly gather mistletoe. Half-heartedly await the Romans. They bathe as the Gauls bathed in ancient times. Sometimes, they dig in the earth. They hold a Gallic banquet, sing Gallic songs, and perform Gallic gestures.</em></div><div><br></div><div> <em>Olivier and Thomas are spending the weekend in a village in the South of France. They pass by an abandoned building. On the building, there is an inscription in marker: "The Gauls".</em></div><div> <em>Olivier and Thomas, two mustachioed gendarmes, come to question Thomas and Olivier. Something must have happened in the building. Could it have been yesterday, or in the fifth century BC?</em></div><div> <em>In this unstable Gaul, steeped in academic culture and pop culture, and influenced by contemporary trends, something resurfaces. Haunted by ancient, violent, and uncertain memories, Olivier and Thomas try to grasp and shake off the fragments, laughing, trembling, experiencing trances, battling, and passing the time.</em></div><div><br></div><div> - Marion Aubert</div><div><br></div>
