In a forest at night, lovers lose their way while fairy creatures pull the threads of destiny.<div> Published in 1600, William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is a comedy of metamorphosis and enchantment. By blurring the lines between dream and reality, the play poses essential questions: what is love, what is desire, making dreams a space where everyone can reinvent themselves. Nearly a century later, composer Henry Purcell delved into this world and composed "The Fairy Queen," where theater and music converse. Drawing on these two works, this performance reinterprets this legacy by blending theatrical performance, musical theater, and circus arts to extend the wonder and enchant audiences of all ages.</div><div><br></div><div> On stage, Baroque and jazz instrumentalists engage in a dialogue, united by a shared quest for freedom, attentive listening, and improvisation, giving rise to a vibrant and unexpected score. This artistic adventure is led by high school students from Seine-Saint-Denis who design and create sets and costumes alongside performing arts professionals.
