The play explores the act of dressing every day. To belong to a group, a genre, a function, a style, or to stand out from it.<div> Bérangère Vantusso, Nicolas Doutey, and the actors of the Young Company of the Théâtre Olympia – CDN de Tours, invite us to a whimsical parade. Between costumes and screens, the play explores the more or less mundane act of dressing each day, in a certain way. To belong to a group, a genre, a role, a style, or to stand out from it. But also to play with it.</div><div><br></div><div> To explore the unique, intimate, or conventional relationships we have with what we wear. What is said about it, and what it says about us. Does the garment make the man, or is it the other way around? Here, we dress, undress, and constantly change, in a visual epic that, so to speak, reproduces the iconoclastic dance of our textile identities... Clothing is the main character, shaped by History and the stories, big and small, that we experience while clothed.</div><div><br></div><div> Trained at the National Dramatic Center (CDN) in Nancy, Bérangère Vantusso discovered puppetry in 1998 at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University. She immediately recognized in this art form the crucial point for her exploration of embodiment and stage presence. In 1999, she founded Compagnie trois-6ix-trente, combining puppetry, acting, and sound compositions. Her productions include Jon Fosse's Violet, Maeterlinck's The Blind, and Eddy Pallaro's Anna's Dream. She is a member of the artistic ensemble at the Sartrouville National Dramatic Center, the Théâtre du Nord in Lille, and the Tours National Dramatic Center. In 2015, she was a recipient of the French Institute's Hors les murs program and traveled to Japan to meet the masters of the Bunraku National Theatre.</div><div><br></div><div> She created L'Institut Benjamenta, based on the work of Robert Walser, at the 70th Avignon Festival. From January 2017 to December 2023, she directed the Studio-Théâtre de Vitry. The creation of Longueur d'ondes – histoire d'une radio libre (2018) marked the beginning of her collaboration with the painter Paul Cox. Together, they embarked on a theatrical project where the trio of actors, text, and painted images finds a balance between formalism and emotion, serving a historical narrative: the struggle of the steelworkers of Longwy in 1979. In 2019, Bérangère created Alors Carcasse by Mariette Navarro at the World Puppet Theatre Festival in Charleville-Mézières.</div><div><br></div><div> In 2021, she collaborated with the L'Oiseau Mouche company on the creation of *Bouger les lignes – histoires de cartes* (Moving the Lines – Map Stories), a play for young audiences created at the 75th Avignon Festival and written by Nicolas Doutey. In 2024, she created *Rhinoceros* at the Théâtre de la Manufacture – CDN in Nancy, where she has been an associate artist since 2021, and directed young actors from ERACM in *Petit bon Dieu* (Little God), a children's show with a touch of dark humor. Bérangère Vantusso has directed the Centre dramatique national de Tours – Théâtre Olympia since January 2024.</div>
