Marrying these two scores is a bold undertaking, because while they share their era and a common celebration of nature, they remain profoundly different.</p><p> This production by the Biarritz-based choreographer is all the more captivating given his meticulous attention to the integrity of the score and the pronounced musicality of his writing. With Les Saisons, Thierry Malandain coherently continues the path laid out by his recent ballets, exploring the connections between humanity, living beings, and nature.</p><p> This is the fourth commission given by the Royal Opera to Thierry Malandain: after Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and Marie Antoinette, the Seasons were conceived with the participation of the Royal Opera Orchestra: the promise of a volcanic fusion between dance and music!</p><p> A co-production of the Royal Opera / Palace of Versailles Spectacles, Cannes Dance Festival - Côte d'Azur France, Teatro Victoria Eugenia - Ballet T - City of Donostia San Sebastián, Opéra de Saint-Étienne, Theater Bonn – Germany, Teatro la Fenice - Venice (Italy), and CCN Malandain Ballet Biarritz</p><p> CD and DVD available in the Château de Versailles Spectacles collection.</p>
