A play is created from authors, actors, and actresses, from situations, but also from the often-forgotten people behind the scenes. Among them is Edouard, a theater janitor, who one evening, between cleaning jobs, attends a dress rehearsal for a major premiere. This doesn't sit well at all with the theater director, a man who is both an accomplished director and a detestable character, reducing Edouard to the status of a low-level worker before sending him back to his dressing room... as a maintenance man. Yet, these two men, so different in every way, are driven by the same passion...
