To bookDescription
Lucie carries a legacy where eating disorders are passed down like family secrets.
But when the setting veers into absurd television drama, the truth is revealed: our bodies have become the stage for a struggle. Initially imbued with sincerity and vulnerability, the play veers towards satire and the absurd. Two parts, two forms, the same question: how do our individual wounds resonate with a world adrift?

They say you shouldn't talk with your mouth full, right? Well, you can't even talk when your mouth is full... Eating disorders are exploding among young people, mostly women (90%). It's projected to be the second leading cause of death for 15-24 year olds in France by 2025. While some eat without a second thought, others count, control, feel guilty, and harm themselves. Why? What causes these disorders? I want to raise awareness about this issue by using humor, sincerity, dreamlike imagery, and absurdity to help those still caught in a spiral of darkness and the pursuit of thinness. Rather than succumbing to "loneliness"—this feeling of disconnection from others and from oneself—to borrow Hannah Arendt's phrase, let's create a sense of community and learn to listen to each other and express ourselves fully!

[As part of the 9th edition of the Traits d'union Festival]
