Based on texts by Howard Barker, this show revisits the Shakespearean figure of Gertrude, Hamlet's mythical mother, woman, queen, irresistible.<div> An exaggerated embodiment of femininity, Gertrude asserts an uncontrolled sexuality and fertility that grants her irresistible power. Everything must be sacrificed to her desire, even at the cost of destruction, even death. She will impose her desire to the point of murder and destruction—of the state, of the family, of herself. With Barker, Lucile Rose decides to confront head-on the scandal provoked by female desire, to examine the impulses of control and possession it unleashes. Beyond all moralizing, *Des yeux sur moi* (Eyes on Me) questions the representations of femininity conveyed by literary and pictorial myths. From this supposed obsolescence, what can be rewritten? What can be rethought? Striking at the narrative thread, the performance takes shape in a constantly collapsing visual universe, an homage to the performative gestures of Bill Viola and Gina Pane.</div>
