A double prize winner at the FNAPEC International Competition in 2021, first prize winner at the Bellan PARIS International Competition and the Freakyday Classical Improvisation Competition in Geneva in 2020, he has just been selected for the second consecutive year by the Hans Wilsdorf-Rolex Foundation in Geneva to benefit from excellent support.</div><div><br></div><div> As a pianist, he performs in France and Europe, both solo and primarily in chamber music. He is notably invited as a performer by the Aix-les-Bains Romantic Nights Festival, the Uzerche Festival, the Franck Festival in Geneva, the Laverune Intimists Festival, the Cinema Under the Stars Festival in Montpellier, the Flaine Music Festival, the Young Talents Festival in Paris, the German Film Music Festival, etc., as well as in prestigious venues such as the National Archives and the Petit Palais in Paris, the Franz Liszt Hall in Geneva, the Cratère National Stage with choreographer Hamid El Kabouss, the Abbey of St Guilhem-le-Désert, the Molière Hall in Lyon, the Lyon Opera Auditorium, and the Nancy Regional Conservatory season.</div><div><br></div><div> Born in a working-class neighborhood, he benefited at the age of seven from a French child welfare program that allowed him to begin his piano studies at the Montpellier Conservatory. There, he also studied counterpoint, harmony, orchestration, composition, and improvisation. He began conducting at the age of 14 and has had the opportunity to regularly lead several orchestras, including the Montpellier Chamber Orchestra, the La Haille Symphony Orchestra, and the Scherzando Ensemble. After completing his higher education in theoretical physics, and choosing to prepare for the entrance exam independently, he entered the Geneva University of Music in the class of Sylviane Deferne, and later Ricardo Castro. He is currently finishing his master's degree in performance there, while also studying conducting at the Scuola di Musica Fiesole in Florence, Italy.</div><div><br></div><div> In parallel, he began a career composing film music in 2017. His first soundtrack, for the film Birth of a Hero Interlude, was performed and recorded by the Montpellier National Orchestra at the age of 21. This debut work won the Best Fantasy Film of the Year award at the 2021 New York Movie Awards. Since then, he has continued to work on new audiovisual productions.</div><div><br></div><div> Throughout his career, Cyril will receive instruction from exceptional musicians such as Stephen Kovacevich, Charles-Richard Hamelin, Pascal Jourdan, Denis Pascal, Hortense Cartier Bresson, Nelson Goerner, Ricardo Castro, Hugues Chaber, in piano; Vineta Sareika, Marianne Piketty, the members of the Ysaïe Quartet, Jean-Claude Pennetier, Noémie Bialobroda, Thomas Hoppe, Dorota Anderszewska and Lorenza Boranni for chamber music.</div><div><br></div><div> Outside of music, Cyril is also a volunteer firefighter in Lyon, and in June 2021 completed a row across the Mediterranean with three other challengers, as part of the Transmed21 project.</div>
