Fleurs Noires, the all-female orchestra that is ushering tango into a new era.<div> Argentine memory meets contemporary writing, electronics and immersive forms, in a single creative impulse.</div><div><br></div><div> Here tango does not become fixed in its heritage: it becomes a living material again, a field of experimentation, tension and freedom.</div><div><br></div><div> Founded in 2003 by Veronica Votti, Luciana Jatuff, and Andréa Marsili, Fleurs noires has established itself, between Buenos Aires and Paris, as a unique contemporary tango ensemble. The group is built on a lasting partnership between musicians and friends, nurtured by attentive listening, loyalty, and a shared artistic vision. For over twenty years, they have been developing a continuous creative practice, driven in particular by the compositions of Andréa Marsili, where tango engages in dialogue with jazz, contemporary music, and more open sonic explorations.</div><div><br></div><div> With Tangos aumentados, this trajectory has now reached a decisive point of maturity. Conceived from the compositions of Andrea Marsili, the album delves deeper into the exploration of orchestration, electronics, timbres, and the movement of sound in space. The pieces combine a typical orchestra with its pre-recorded virtual double, fueled by a synthetic composition developed from sonic materials derived from gestures.</div><div> instrumentals specific to tango. From this superimposition of acoustic and electronic sounds emerges a play of mirrors, phase shifts, and</div><div> unprecedented complementarities, opening new perspectives in contemporary writing of the genre. Several pieces draw on the dialogue between Andrea Marsili's music and Omar Marsili's texts. The album also features several guests: Tomás Gubitsch, a prominent figure</div><div> major figures in contemporary tango; Mandy Lerouge, Aureliano Marin and Vanesa García, who reinforce its vocal, rhythmic and</div><div> sound.</div><div><br></div><div> Over the years, Fleurs Noires has developed an approach that extends beyond the concert setting. The ensemble engages in educational and outreach activities with diverse audiences, in conservatories, schools, neighborhoods, and even in venues where musical creation is rarely expected. It also situates its work within a dialogue with other art forms, notably dance, spoken word, and performance. Through the collaboration between Andrea Marsili and Omar Marsili, whose texts accompany several of their creations, a way of making tango not only a musical form, but also a space for passage, sharing, and renewal, emerges.</div>
