On October 13, 1972, Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 crashed in the Andes.<div> Of the forty-five passengers on board, more than half survived but waited a long time for rescue, in extreme conditions.</div><div> Italian director Fabiana Iacozzilli investigated with survivors and bereaved families to reconstruct the ordeal they endured.</div><div><br></div><div> In a setting resembling a dilapidated airplane carcass, the actors manipulate life-size puppets in full view, inspired by Giacometti's sculptures—ghostly and fragile figures of survivors, resisting as best they can, braving hunger, cold, isolation, and, for some, death.
