Souad Amidou in Encounters
To bookDescription
Souad Amidou, alone on stage with a guitarist/backing vocalist, offers a committed, joyful... and rock and roll show! Souad Amidou, an actress known for her work in film and television, is also a singer. She takes us on a journey in seven scenes. Each chapter of her "Encounters" is punctuated by a musical composition and sketches, interacting with the audience.
She accompanies herself on folk guitar. She also shares the stage with a guitarist and backing vocalist: Jérôme Sétian or Nico Leroy, two experienced musicians and singers, who will alternate performances. The voices and chords, interwoven with the narrative, are invitations to travel—through time, space, and sound—an invitation to share laughter, choruses, human connection, and emotions within a family setting.

Children, grandparents, people with disabilities, young people - and not so young - in couples or single, are directly concerned by the texts, which have been written in a spirit of connection with the world around us.
Animals haven't been forgotten, as they too are the subject of an encounter. The wolf is the totem animal of this show. Passersby can glimpse its gaze in a corner of the poster... The Arabic language also makes an appearance through occasional forays into the artist's family history. Humor mingles with tenderness in a constant interplay between comedy and poetry.

Co-composers: Shem; Sam Brafman; Nico Leroy
Vocal coach: Isabel Jeannin
Lighting design: Eric Valentin
