Presented by AEG Presents France (LR-21-2451/LR-21-2452) After years in the spotlight, Sophie and the Giants (aka Sophie Scott) has finally found her calling. You can catch her in concert on November 7th at Le Hasard Ludique in Paris! Raised on Queen, ABBA, and Blondie, this British artist has always sung and quickly took up the piano, guitar, and drums. After high school, she pursued music studies where she met the first members of her band, which would become Sophie & The Giants. Based in Sheffield, the band was initially influenced by the indie rock of their contemporaries, Arctic Monkeys and Catfish and the Bottlemen. But it was in a completely different genre that Sophie found her true inspiration. In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, she wrote “Hypnotized” with Purple Disco Machine, a track with retro riffs and dance sounds infused with Italo-disco. The track was a runaway success, going platinum in France. This change of direction marked a turning point for Sophie & The Giants. Forced to reinvent herself, she continued her solo career and released “Shut Up And Dance” in 2024, an electrifying EP featuring collaborations with Purple Disco Machine and Benny Benassi. Her latest single, “Red Light,” released on February 21st, follows the same dynamic, blending euro-dance, pop, and disco
