Tribute concert in memory of Günter Pichler, founding member of the legendary Alban Berg Quartet.<div> The Tchalik and Van Kuijk Quartets pay tribute to Günter Pichler, first violinist and founding member of the legendary Alban Berg Quartet, who was their mentor. They are joined by pianist Shani Diluka and cellist Valentin Erben, a friend and colleague of Pichler in the Alban Berg Quartet. They will perform Mendelssohn's Octet Op. 20 and Brahms's Quintet Op. 34, as well as the moving slow movement of Schubert's Quintet for Two Cellos.</div><div><br></div><div> A renowned violinist and quartet player, Günter Pichler was also an exceptional teacher and trained many of today's finest quartets.
