Under the direction of conductor Nicolas Simon, the Yellow Socks Orchestra – a French symphony orchestra specializing in film music – will perform live the greatest scores of these two genius composers.</div><div><br></div><div> John Williams, the undisputed master of orchestration, revolutionized film music in the 1970s. The composer of choice for Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, he wrote the scores for some of the greatest masterpieces of cinema: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, Indiana Jones... His unforgettable melodic themes, recognizable from the very first notes, restored the symphonic orchestra to its former glory in film. Winner of 5 Oscars and with 54 nominations, Williams remains a living legend whose work transcends generations.</div><div><br></div><div> Hans Zimmer, for his part, embodies modernity and audacity. A German composer who became a naturalized American citizen, he revolutionized film music by fusing monumental orchestrations with electronic sounds. Their greatest works will be performed live by the Yellow Socks Orchestra under the direction of conductor Nicolas Simon.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div> Nicolas Simon, musical director of the Yellow Socks Orchestra, is the principal conductor of the Caen Orchestra appointed in September 2020, founder, artistic and musical director of La Symphonie de Poche and of the Philharmonicoeur, associate conductor of the Les Siècles Orchestra and head of the Démos project.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div> The Yellow Socks Orchestra is a French symphony orchestra specializing in film music. It was created in 2015 by the production company uGo&Play and is conducted by Nicolas Simon. The name Yellow Socks Orchestra, literally "the orchestra with yellow socks," is a play on words referencing a convention still practiced in some orchestras: musicians must always wear black socks or risk having their pay docked! So, we took the opposite approach (...) and gave the musicians yellow socks!</div><div><br></div>
