Description

After a triumph at the Théâtre du Châtelet, the record-breaking musical returns in spring 2026 for an exceptional tour in France.
Nominated for the Molière Awards in the "musical show" category, the adaptation of Victor Hugo's work, which has captivated more than 130 million spectators worldwide, will be presented in a masterful new staging by Ladislas Chollat.

46 years after its first stage adaptation in 1980, this new French-language production - whose libretto has been reworked by Alain Boublil for the occasion - allows us to rediscover many songs that have become timeless: J'avais rêvé, À la volonté du peuple, Mon histoire, Le Grand jour...

Serving the text, Ladislas Chollat's staging conveys the full complexity of the characters through their symbolic dimension: the redemption of Jean Valjean, the innocence of Cosette, the antagonism of Javert, the greed of the Thénardiers, or the courage of Gavroche... "As a perfect painter of the human soul, Victor Hugo neglects no color. The heroes of Les Misérables are described in the smallest corners of their souls, in their shadow as well as in their light," explains the director.

The various scenes unfold in a series of monumental sets (barricades, the Thénardiers' inn, a ballroom, the Paris sewers...) that occupy the entire stage space. This sense of scale is also reflected in the artistic cast, composed of 64 actors and musicians who perform in perfect harmony for nearly three hours.

Victor Hugo's humanist epic, with the music of Claude-Michel Schönberg and the libretto of Alain Boublil, regains its full scope and still resonates today in all its universality...

Les Misérables is the biggest worldwide success in the history of musical theatre. More than 130 million people have seen it in 53 countries and in 27 languages. The show has been running continuously in London since 1985: a world record.
