Known throughout the Germanic world through the Brothers Grimm, this story of a young girl cursed by a malevolent fairy and saved by true love's kiss was adapted into a ballet and premiered in 1890 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. Even today, Sleeping Beauty remains one of the most popular ballets in the classical repertoire.</div><div> The ballet was born from the close collaboration between Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Marius Petipa, arguably the greatest choreographer of the 19th century. It fascinates with its formal perfection and the richness of its choreographic and musical language. Thanks to its enchanting dimension and theatrical splendor, it also captivates a wide audience.
