Description

Fanfare, everything has an end except the sausage which has two.<div> Is this a comedy show? At first glance, no, since it's a funeral. Yet the widow puts on a show, and the funeral home band would gladly play a cheerful tune. Clearly, death doesn't stop the living; in fact, it's death that leads the eventful dance that is existence. Life is driven by death... Did you say "driven"?</div><div><br></div><div> For her mock one-woman show, Anne-Lise Heimburger surrounds herself with five top-flight wind instrumentalists. Together, they blend the great musical and literary repertoire with popular folklore, like night merging with day and combat with love. Along the way, they discover that by speeding up a funeral march four times, it becomes a polka, and they bring to life the oxymoron of life and death.</div><div><br></div><div> The musical theatre piece Fanfare, Tout a une fin sauf la saucisse qui en a deux (Everything Has an End Except the Sausage, Which Has Two), explores how adversity, if not succumbed to it, can spark a unique vitality. Longtime collaborators Anne-Lise Heimburger invites Samuel Achache and Florent Hubert to join her in drawing out the extraordinary and the laughter from the worst of circumstances.</div>
