Female Icons: Piano and poetry give a contemporary voice to twenty-two legendary women.<div> The "Female Icons" project was born from the desire to juxtapose music and poetry around twenty-two legendary female figures. Using piano pieces by Bonis, Bizet, Chaminade, Poulenc, Debussy, Granados, and Mompou, twenty-two poems were composed for Salome, Ophelia, Desdemona, Viviane, Ondine, the girl with flaxen hair...</div><div><br></div><div> These icons, often frozen in time by painting, literature, or the male gaze, are approached here as living presences.
