Lumumba Awards, the awards ceremony for excellence in the Congolese diaspora.<p> The Lumumba Awards recognize Congolese people living abroad who have brought honor or visibility to the Congolese national flag through their activities and are, therefore, called upon to pave the way for a resurgence of patriotism and the ongoing pursuit of excellence and performance in various areas of life.<br><br> The Lumumba Awards provide an example to Congolese youth of immigration who often feel lost in life due to the lack of their own "role models" with whom they can identify.</p>
