Description

The Palace on the Île de la Cité, where our Capetian kings lived, is immense - 28 km of galleries, and reminds us of a listed site steeped in history, from the Romans 2000 years ago to the French Revolution (Fouquier-Tinville Revolutionary Tribunal, trial of Marie Antoinette and Robespierre and many others....).

Even today, we can still attend live trials in the courtrooms (the Assize Court, the Court of Cassation, and the Court of Appeal have remained there after the TGI moved to the new Porte de Clichy site): we will mention the exceptional Salle des Pas-Perdus, the Cour de Mai from which the carts of the condemned departed, the superb Saint-Louis gallery...

Following the news of the Bataclan trial, and others that will follow in the new room built at the Palais de la Cité, the guide will be able to lead you with the authorizations in this maze for a very complete 2-hour visit.

Please note:
Safety instructions: no sharp metal objects (scissors, nail files, knives, etc.), no containers (water bottles, glass bottles, etc.).
Please bring your identity document.

The guide's instructions regarding the internal organization of the courthouse tour must be followed. Anyone disrupting these rules will not be admitted.
- mobile phone completely switched off at the entrance to the courtrooms, neither on vibrate nor in airplane mode.
- total silence at the entrance to the rooms
- Please remain in the room for a minimum of 20 minutes - you may then leave at any time. Guided tour of the still-operational Paris courthouse.
