Located on the Champs-Élysées, the Hôtel de la Païva is a magnificent private mansion built between 1855 and 1866 for the Marquise de Païva. Classified as a historical monument, this exceptional residence offers a sublime glimpse of the architecture and decorative arts of the Second Empire.<br> During this visit, we will tell you the story of La Païva, the famous courtesan and mistress of a wealthy and powerful Prussian count. We will take you into the Grand Salon where you will discover the impressive ceiling painted by Paul Baudry, the painter of the Grand Foyer of the Opéra Garnier.<br><br> You will also be able to admire, as Théophile Gautier, Alexandre Dumas, and the Goncourt brothers did in their time, the rich decorations of the Dining Room and the paintings in the Music Room, paintings which, at the time, caused quite a stir... We will, of course, take the famous Algerian onyx staircase to the upper floor to admire, among other things, the sublime Oriental-inspired Bathroom...
