Based on a collection of lyrical poems, Carmina Burana was composed by Carl Orff between 1935 and 1936. First performed in 1937 at the Frankfurt Opera, this masterful work has always captivated audiences and continues to resonate with the public. The most famous movement, "O Fortuna," reprised at the end of the work, is now known worldwide. Performed with passion and power by the choirs and soloists, these secular Latin songs tell a story of life, death, destiny, and above all, love. Nearly 100 artists sing of the joy of spring's return and the pleasures of alcohol, play with the wheel of fortune, and dance of love and lust. This new production sensually and emotionally captures this musical phenomenon, demonstrating that music, movement, and words are inseparable. A major 20th-century success performed worldwide, this original and spirited show will embark on a major European tour starting in November 2025.
