La Cigale is a theater in Paris .
History
Located on the Boulevard de Rochechouart , in the district in Pigalle , the room -hall has been built in 1887 at the site of Ball Boule Noire (built in 1822) <ref> Caradec François and Alain Weill, Le Café -concert </ ref>. With a capacity of about 1,000 seats, it specializes in immediate review . It was enlarged in 1894 by architect Henry Grandpierre, with a ceiling painted by Adolphe Leon Willette . It hosts performances Mistinguett , Maurice Chevalier , Yvonne Printemps , Gaston Ouvrard , Archer , Raimu or Max Linder .
After the First World War , we play the operettas , of vaudeville and evenings futuristic Jean Cocteau . A tavern moved to the basement of the establishment in 1924. But Caf'e-Trib. closes its doors in 1927. It is temporarily replaced by a small music hall called The Ant.
In 1940 , La Cigale is a cinema , a moment that specializes in movies Kung-fu , then in the movies X-rated .
In 1987 , the reopening of La Cigale with Rita Mitsouko , with Jacques Renault and Fabrice Coat , two former brokers, and cofounders of the nightclub " Les Bains Douches ". The room is decorated and modernized by Philippe Starck . The art direction and music is entrusted to Corinne Mimram which until now heads the establishment. Transformed into a multipurpose venue, La Cigale becomes one of the places most popular show in the capital.
In January 2007 , La Cigale Partners with SFR for two years and will be called La Cigale SFR. The room is connected with the black ball and the Trabendo .
The room is classified a historical monument since 1981 .

The Inrockuptibles Festival runs for 20 years at La Cigale, as well as the Factory Festival . Hall
The hall can accommodate 1,389 people (for concerts where the audience is standing) or 954 (for performances with audience seated). The floor of the orchestra has a scalable platform that can tilt and whether raising through a hydraulic .
